Hey Gorgeous, welcome or welcome back to MSP Boudoir. We are Bolivar, Missouri's luxury boudoir studio - located just north of Springfield - whose focus is on women and empowering them through nurturing self-confidence. My name is Mackenzie, and I'm here to walk you through all things boudoir. Today, let's talk about your bridal boudoir session!
When it comes to your wedding, there are many decisions to make. One of those decisions is if you want to have a bridal boudoir experience.
Let's start with why
Many brides choose to have a bridal boudoir session to gift their images to their new husband, either before the wedding or during their honeymoon. Gifting your images in an album is such a sweet (and spicy!) gift, that still has a classy feel and that can be easily concealed. As an added bonus to their excitement, your spouses' reaction is such an amazing confidence boost for you!
Another reason brides choose to have a boudoir session, in addition to an amazing gift to give, is for the experience. Your wedding day is a day where all eyes are on you - including a camera... and that can feel stressful, especially if you struggle with your body image.
You may have heard that the more you are in front of a camera, the easier is becomes... and that is absolutely the truth.
Boudoir is a great way to celebrate this new chapter in your life, relax and be pampered, and get to step into your confidence before your big day. Our goal is for you to see how truly beautiful you are so that you feel 110% confident when you walk down the aisle!
What to wear and bring
To start, I love to talk with you about your vision for your bridal boudoir session. Some brides want a very classic bridal session (think all white, veil, garter, shoes, etc), others want nothing that relates to a classic wedding, and most want a mix of both.
Our studio's client closet includes a wide range of colors and styles of lingerie and accessories, sizes S-6x, but you are welcome to bring your items own as well!
If you want to really personalize your bridal boudoir wardrobe we recommend bringing:
Wedding night lingerie
Garter (one of our brides had her new last name embroidered on it - super cute!)
Wedding shoes
Wedding jewelry
TIP: Whether you bring it all yourself or just borrow from the client closet - make sure your ring is clean and nails look nice!
When to book
An important part of planning your boudoir session is knowing when to book. I recommend booking at least 2-4 months in advance of when you need your album by just to be safe. This gives you plenty of time to prepare and gives me plenty of time to make sure everything is perfect and of the highest quality!
(P.S. If you don't have that amount of time, no worries. I have options for you!)
. . .
I hope this little bit of information helps you decide whether or not a bridal boudoir session is right for you, and if so, helps you plan your session to be the absolute best it can be!
