Hey Gorgeous!

So, you’ve booked your boudoir session—how exciting! You’re about to do something so empowering, and I promise you, it’s going to be an experience you’ll never forget. But let’s be real for a second: It can also feel a little intimidating if you’ve never done this before. Don’t worry, though—I’m here to guide you through getting ready for your boudoir shoot so you can feel confident, beautiful, and totally at ease.

Here’s your go-to guide to prep for your session, from outfit choices to self-care tips and the right mindset. Let’s dive in!

1. Choose Your Outfits (And Don’t Overthink It!)

First things first—let’s talk outfits! This is your time to shine, but I know it can be hard to figure out what to wear. The good news? You don’t need a crazy wardrobe to look amazing. The goal is to pick pieces that make you feel like the most confident version of yourself.

Here’s what I recommend:

  • Lingerie: Start with the basics. Think about a classic lace bra and panty set or something a little more bold, like a corset or teddy. If you’re feeling adventurous, a garter belt or stockings can add some extra flair. Choose colors that complement your skin tone and make you feel sexy—black, red, or nude are always classic choices, but don’t be afraid to throw in a pop of something unexpected!

  • Layers & Accessories: Add a little drama with a robe, kimono, or sheer cover-up. These can make for some stunning, mysterious shots. Accessories like a statement necklace, earrings, or a pair of heels can also elevate your look.

  • Comfort is Key: While it's great to pick things that make you feel sexy, make sure you’re comfortable! You don’t want to spend the whole shoot adjusting or worrying about something not fitting right. Try everything on beforehand and check for comfort and fit.

Bonus: Don’t worry if you don’t have the perfect outfit or feel like you don’t have enough options! As part of your boudoir experience with me, you’ll have access to the client closet!

Think of it as your personal boudoir boutique, stocked with gorgeous lingerie, robes, and accessories in a range of sizes and styles. Whether you want to add a little extra glam or you’re not sure what looks best on you, the client closet is there to ensure you feel fabulous and have plenty of options to choose from.

Pro tip: Bring a few of your own options to your session too! That way, you can switch things up if something doesn’t feel quite right or if you want variety in your shots.

2. Self-Care (You Deserve It!)

Taking care of yourself before the shoot will help you feel more relaxed and confident in front of the camera. And trust me, it will show!

Here’s what I suggest:

  • Hydrate: Drink plenty of water the day before and the day of your session. Hydration helps your skin look its best and gives you that glow you’re after. Plus, it helps with energy levels so you can shine during your shoot.

  • Get a Good Night’s Sleep: Rest up! Sleep is your best friend when it comes to looking refreshed and radiant. Aim for 7–9 hours the night before so you can feel energized and ready to slay your boudoir shoot.

  • Grooming (If You Want to!): If you like to get your hair, nails, or skin prepped before special occasions, this is the time to treat yourself! Whether it’s a mani-pedi, a fresh shave, or just some self-care with your favorite skincare routine, it all adds to the pampered vibe. But remember—don’t feel pressured to do anything you’re not comfortable with. Boudoir is about YOU, just as you are!

  • Feel Your Best: If you have a favorite perfume or body lotion that makes you feel extra fabulous, use it! You’ll feel so much more confident in your own skin when you're smelling and feeling amazing.

3. Mindset: You’re a Goddess!

This one’s HUGE. It’s normal to feel a little nervous or unsure, especially if this is your first boudoir session. But I want you to remember one thing: You are absolutely stunning. No, seriously. You’re a goddess, and this experience is about capturing that beauty and confidence.

Here’s how to get into the right mindset:

  • Let Go of Perfection: There’s no “perfect” when it comes to boudoir. The goal is to capture real, authentic moments. So if you have a “flaw” you’re worried about, just know—most people don’t even notice those things the way you do. Your body, your face, your smile—it’s all beautiful. Trust the process, and don’t get caught up in trying to look “perfect.” Your photographer will guide you every step of the way.

  • Embrace Vulnerability: Boudoir is about celebrating your body in all its glory, flaws and all. It can feel a little vulnerable at first, but I promise it’s a super empowering experience. And remember, you’re not doing this for anyone else. You’re doing it for you. Whether it’s a gift for your partner or just a confidence boost for yourself, it’s about honoring your journey.

  • Positive Affirmations: The night before your shoot, stand in front of the mirror and remind yourself how amazing you are. Say things like, “I am beautiful, I am strong, and I am worthy of this experience.” It might feel awkward at first, but trust me—this can really help shift your mindset and boost your confidence.

4. On the Day of Your Boudoir Session

Now that you’re all prepped and ready to go, here are a couple of things to keep in mind the day of:

  • Arrive Relaxed: Don’t rush! Leave yourself plenty of time to get ready so you’re not stressed. You want to walk into the studio feeling calm and confident. Play your favorite playlist on the way to the session to get in the mood!

  • Bring Anything Extra You Might Need: If you want a particular prop (like a favorite hat or a blanket), bring it along. And don’t forget a small bag with any essentials like extra makeup, deodorant, and maybe a water bottle.

  • Trust Your Photographer: This is your time to let go and trust. I've got you covered! I’ll help you with posing and making you feel comfortable, so you don’t have to worry about a thing.

At the end of the day, the most important thing is that you show up for yourself. A boudoir session is a celebration of your uniqueness, beauty, and strength, and I promise you it’s going to be an incredible experience.

So, relax, take a deep breath, and get ready to unleash your inner goddess!

I can’t wait for you to see the magic you create during your session.

You’ve got this! 💖

With love,

Your biggest cheerleader ✨
