2023 In Review

Hey there! 2023 has been a wild ride, but we made it and are thriving! If you are new here, My name is Mackenzie and I own MSP Boudoir in Bolivar, MO. Yes, that's right. Even women in small bible belt towns who love Jesus, deserve to celebrate and love their bodies!

Here is a recap on 2023 and the challenging and wonderful year we have had!

A little backstory...

I signed the lease on the studio in July 2022, and found out I was pregnant with baby #2 the next day! In September, we found out that baby had a terminal diagnosis and would not survive after birth. Due to grief (and normal pregnancy sickness) the studio sat mostly unused from August to February.

In February, with the help of my sister in law, we started renovating the space!

Here's a little before and after of the work we did!

A couple weeks later, we had our Galentine's Event! This was our first open house event at the studio, and it was so much fun! (I didn't get nearly enough images!)

Ten days after the event, I gave birth to baby Caroline!

Those 84 minutes she lived, were the most beautiful moments of 2023 for our little family.

After taking some time off, we opened the studio doors for boudoir sessions again in April!

In April, we also had the opportunity to participate in the Osage Valley Wedding Expo in Clinton, MO!

Over the next few months we photographed so many amazing women and also held our first bubble bath minis!

Another important part of 2023, was that we snagged this GEM of a human, Mellissa, as the studio's hair and makeup artist!

This year, we photographed over almost 40 women!

40 women who see themselves in a new light.

40 women who speak nicer to themselves.

40 women who walk with more confidence.

40 women who can now teach their daughters, sisters, and friends - that beauty is so much more than what society tells us it is.

2023 has been an incredible year. It held it's challenges, but it has left us thriving!

We are so excited to give more women the support and experience they need and deserve in 2024, and we can't wait to see you there!
