The warming weather, swim suits, and your kids asking when the last day of school is, give that not-so-subtle reminder that Summer is on its’ way!
While Summer is adored by many, for some it is a time of insecurity. (Make sure to check out our post about increasing confidence Here.)
When the weather gets hot, it’s time to shed some clothing layers to stay comfortable. Whether you are just surviving a trip to the grocery store or if you have a full day ahead in the water, this can leave you anxiously deciding on what to wear and fighting those thoughts that bring down your confidence.
I want to be upfront in saying that these feelings – don’t come with a size.
As a boudoir photographer, I have worked with women of all shapes, sizes, and skin colors. Trust me when I tell you that it doesn’t matter what size, shape, or color you are -we all have our insecurities.
Now that we have addressed that, let’s talk about that “Summer body”.
Most would probably describe a “Summer body” as slim, toned, and tanned.
Today we are going to re-define what it means.
To us, a Summer body is a body… during Summer! This means that every body is a summer body.
It’s a body wearing something it feels comfortable and good in. Find that outfit that makes you feel confident, find that swim suit that makes you feel like a million bucks, those sunglasses that make you feel sassy! Don't want to be blonde during Summer? Then don't be!
A Summer body is a body that accepts that all bodies are different, and that this is a reason to celebrate!
It’s a body that is enjoying life to the fullest. Swimming, dancing with friends, eating good food, taking trips, doing all the things. Unbothered with a focus on the good stuff.
This Summer, I want to challenge you to let go of your “I wish” statements.
Your boobs are great, your butt is perfect, and your curves are art in its purest form.
Embrace this beautiful, wonderful body you live in!
Look and the mirror and say “damn girl!”
Because you deserve to hear it - You’ve got it all!
